007 First Light released an updated PC requirements after the community pointed out several errors
IO Interactive released updated PC system requirements for 007 First Light on January 15, 2026, after the community quickly pointed out several errors in the initial version posted earlier in January.
What Went Wrong with the Original Specs
The first requirements included:
- A non-existent Intel Core i5-9500K CPU (the real model is i5-9500)
- Inconsistent VRAM numbers (recommended 12 GB at 1080p/60 FPS, but suggested GPUs like RTX 3060 Ti only have 8 GB)
- Excessively high recommended RAM (32 GB just for 1080p/60 FPS)
IOI explained it was the result of an internal miscommunication that accidentally published an outdated draft. They apologized and fixed it quickly after community feedback.
Updated PC System Requirements
These are the corrected specs, targeting 1080p/30 FPS minimum and 1080p/60 FPS recommended (higher resolutions like 1440p/4K will get their own targets closer to launch).
Minimum (1080p/30 FPS)
- OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-9500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 (6 GB VRAM) / AMD RX 5700 (8 GB VRAM) / Intel discrete GPU equivalent
- Storage: 80 GB
Recommended (1080p/60 FPS)
- OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-13500 / AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB VRAM) / AMD RX 6700 XT (12 GB VRAM) / Intel discrete GPU equivalent
- Storage: 80 GB
The updated requirements are much more realistic and should run well on most mid-range PCs from the last few years.
Community reaction has been generally positive, though some players remain cautious about launch-day performance based on IO Interactive's past titles.
