Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event is today.

This is the first major product keynote under new CEO John Ternus (Tim Cook is now executive chairman).
What’s expected
The headline product is Apple’s first foldable iPhone — a book-style device (opens like a small tablet), not a clamshell flip phone.
Overnight reporting from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says it will be called the iPhone Duo, start at $2,000 for 256GB, come in white and dark blue, and go on sale as early as October (after the Pro models). Higher storage could approach $3,000.
Also expected:
- iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max (A20 Pro 2nm chip; base iPhone 18 rumored for spring 2027)
- Apple Watch Series 12 and Watch Ultra 4
- Possible AirPods and HomePod updates
Why it matters
It’s the biggest iPhone form-factor change since the iPhone X.
Apple is entering a category Samsung has owned for years, at a premium price, with limited early supply likely.
