Crazy Taxi: World Tour is Sega’s first mainline Crazy Taxi since Crazy Taxi 3 on original Xbox.
Revealed at the June Xbox Games Showcase.

Hits the streets of Japan in 2027.
What it is
Creator Kenji Kanno is back.
You play Axel. Masked thieves steal his cab. He chases them across five cities. Story campaign plus classic Arcade Mode (clock, fares, crazy money).
First time the series has real online multiplayer. Xbox Play Anywhere. Cross-play.
Platforms: Xbox Series, Xbox PC, PS5, Switch 2, Steam.
Wishlist is up. Switch 2 store page still “coming soon.” Price TBA.
Modes
- World Tour campaign — recover the taxi, odd jobs, fishing bits, pizza-stack fares
- Arcade — original loop
- Online: Pickup Race (up to six, most drop-offs / most cash) and Cops ’N’ Cabbies
- Vehicles and full cab customization
Closed network test already ran Sept 11–13 on PS5 / Xbox / PC.

The asterisks
Sega’s Steam page says generative AI was used as a support tool in development.
“No AI was used in reference to the performers.”
That fight started in June and is not dead.
Netflix + Sega also announced a live-action Crazy Taxi film this week. Separate from the game.
This is one of Sega’s five classic reboots (with Shinobi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage).
Shinobi already shipped. This one is next year, not this TGS.
