Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 (Edgerunners 2 Update) launches tomorrow, October 22, 2026, as a free update on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S (Switch 2 to follow shortly).
It is timed to the full drop of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 on Netflix (all 10 episodes arrived October 20).
CDPR has officially confirmed cyberware customization and a new dual-wielding playstyle.
Everything else below comes from an accidental early content-creator preview (later taken private) that multiple outlets covered; the full official reveal and patch notes are expected during today’s REDstream (around 11 a.m. EDT / 5 p.m. CEST on Twitch, YouTube, and Steam).
Confirmed + strongly leaked highlights
- Dual-wielding: New “Double Trouble” perk in the Cool skill tree (with supporting perks). Lets you dual-wield Power pistols or revolvers. Tech and Smart weapons are reportedly excluded.
- Cyberware customization: Five new “Glamdocs” (specialized ripperdocs with unique characters, voice lines, and animations). They let you recolor/customize arm and hand cyberware (Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, Projectile Launch System, etc.).
- New side content:
- “Clampdown” — described as a prequel-style quest set before Edgerunners Season 2. Involves Weak Kingsley / King and rewards related gear/outfit.
- “Welcome to Paradise” — a more mysterious Night City tour-style quest.
- New radio station featuring tracks from both seasons of the Edgerunners anime.
- Cosmetic additions: Five new clothing sets, new hairstyles for V (some body-type specific), extra photo-mode options (including frames inspired by the Cyberpunk trading cards).
- Console quality-of-life (leaked): Field-of-view (FOV) slider, integrated mod.io support on PS5 and Xbox (mods disable trophies/achievements), save-file folders, item filters for the stash, and a PS5 HDR fix. Mod support is not expected on Switch 2.
Context
This is being called CDPR’s biggest free update to the game since Phantom Liberty.
It continues the pattern of tying substantial free content to the Edgerunners anime (the first season also brought a content drop).
The update is free for everyone who owns the game; no new paid expansion is involved.
Full details, exact perk trees, quest lengths, and any additional features should be clarified in today’s stream.
