Fortnitemares: Freaky Fields turns a stretch of Halloween Horror Nights into a living Fortnite drop.
You walk into an open field instead of a queued house.
Corn rises around you.
Scarecrows stand with glowing jack-o’-lantern heads.
A full-size Battle Bus sits in the middle of the zone like it just landed and the match is already underway.
Fortnitemares characters move through the area, and Universal added a few of their own that only exist at the park.
Actors roam the space the whole time. There is no set path and no door you have to unlock.
The idea is simple: you dropped in, something is out there with you, and you need to cross the field and get out before it finds you.
Each coast builds the zone a little differently.
Orlando and Hollywood both run it, but the layout, the specific characters, and how the actors work the space are not identical.
Jack the Clown from HHN has shown up in the zone as well, tying the park’s own icon into the Fortnite event and giving regulars something familiar mixed in with the game characters.
The zone is included with a normal Halloween Horror Nights ticket.
You do not buy a separate pass for it. Both parks sell matching merch (tees, decals, acrylics) and ShopUniversal.com carries it too.
At Hollywood, Tower Snacks near Universal Plaza has Fortnitemares food, including a 22-inch Battle Bus Dog and Slurp Juice that have drawn their own lines on busy nights.
Epic also put HHN characters, including Jack the Clown and Hamikuma, in the Fortnite item shop earlier in October, so the crossover runs both ways.
In the actual game this season, Freaky Fields is a live POI that replaced Latte Landing with an open Halloween farm, and the park zone is themed after that event rather than a direct copy.
It is open on select nights through November 1.
