The Hype for Forza Horizon 6 is real—and it's dropping next month on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PC (Xbox app and Steam), and day one on Game Pass Ultimate/PC Game Pass.
Premium Edition players get early access starting May 15.
It's set in Japan, which has been the most requested location by fans for years.
Playground Games is going all-in: think neon-lit Tokyo streets (the largest and most detailed urban area in any Horizon game yet), winding mountain passes (touge vibes incoming), cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji views, and Japan's legendary car culture.
The map sounds massive, with rich biomes, authentic details, and full seasonal changes that dramatically transform the world—like FH4 but even more ambitious.
Early looks and dev interviews call it the biggest and most ambitious entry in the series:
- Over 550 real-world cars at launch.
- Improved progression, car meets, customization, audio, and physics.
- Features like proper story elements, garages, and even buildable areas that fans have been asking for.
- Touge battles, Daikoku PA recreation, and deep integration of Japanese racing heritage.
Gameplay trailers and in-engine footage show stunning visuals—Japan's "72 micro-seasons" in action, with everything from snowy winters to postcard springs affecting driving and the environment.
PS5 version is coming later in 2026 (no exact date yet), so Xbox/PC gets it first.
The community is buzzing hard right now—countdown posts, custom maps in FH5 to tide people over, and tons of praise for how it looks like Playground finally delivered on fan wishes.
If you're on Game Pass, it's a no-brainer day-one play. Pre-orders are live, and the trailers are worth checking out for that pure hype injection.

You grabbing it day one, or waiting for more previews? Japan setting has me sold already—drifting through Tokyo at night sounds insane. 🚗🇯🇵
