iPhone 18 Pro ($1,199) and
iPhone 18 Pro Max ($1,299).
The regular iPhone 18 (plus 18e and Air 2) is expected in spring 2027.
The foldable iPhone Duo ($1,999) was the event star but ships October 23.
The Pro phones are the ones you can actually buy today.
What’s actually new
- A20 Pro — Apple’s first 2nm phone chip. Benchmarks put it well ahead of last year’s A19 Pro and current Android flagships. GPU is up to ~40% faster.
- Variable aperture main camera — 48MP Fusion lens with a real 6-blade mechanical aperture (f/1.48 to f/4). First time an iPhone can physically change depth of field and light intake instead of faking it in software. Reviewers are calling this the real reason to care.
- Battery — Apple rates 36 hours video on the Pro, 45 hours on the Pro Max. Real-world testers say the Pro Max is a two-day phone for most people. Fast charge to 50% in about 15 minutes.
- Bigger vapor chamber for sustained performance and less throttling.
- Smaller Dynamic Island, new Glacier and Burgundy colors, 2TB option on both models.
Design is basically last year’s 17 Pro aluminum unibody with color-matched glass. Incremental on the outside, bigger jumps inside.
