GTA 6 Launch Trailer (released today, ~90 seconds, captured entirely on PS5).
“Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.
But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
The game launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (digital preloads begin November 12 for pre-orders).
PC is expected in early 2027.
Key Story & Character Details from the Trailer
- Jason’s backstory: He was in the Army but “didn’t leave on the best of terms.” He says they “don’t give loans or anything to people like me.” The trailer opens with him working at Brian’s Marina in The Keys (buffing a boat), which has been relatively underexplored in prior footage.
- Lucia’s situation: She appears to be calling Jason from jail (a reverse-charged/collect call). She’s shown wearing an electronic ankle tag, strongly implying she’s out on parole/probation. This lines up with earlier key art and the May 2025 Trailer 2, which showed Jason picking her up from Leonida Penitentiary.
- Their relationship is central — they’re lovers and partners in crime. The trailer includes a steamy shower scene (confirming the long-rumored intimate/sex content and likely full nudity). Dialogue snippets emphasize them sticking together (“Are we going to be okay?” / “We stuck together through everything. Just got to get through it.”).
What the Trailer Shows
It’s a cinematic montage mixing story beats and action:
- Opens on The Keys.
- Jason receiving the call from Lucia.
- Various crime set pieces: police chases, heists (including a helicopter getaway that goes wrong), bank robbery vibes, Lucia jumping onto a moving plane, tactical/swamp operations, explosions, and high-speed action.
- Intercut with the intimate shower scene and other relationship moments.
- Ends with the duo jumping multiple stories into a swimming pool.
- Quick cuts of other characters, locations across Vice City and Leonida, and the usual Rockstar density of detail (wildlife, vehicles, etc.).
It leans more into tone, relationship, and spectacle than deep new gameplay systems (those were covered more thoroughly in the August 27 “Extended Look” on Netflix).
The Music
- “Flower in a Hurricane” by French electronic duo Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
- Justice is composing the full original dynamic score for the game (it adapts to gameplay).
- The track is available now as a standalone single and will be on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album (a 34-track official soundtrack). Some other revealed tracks on the album include contributions from Travis Scott, Cardi B, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen, PinkPantheress, and more.
- Rockstar also shared official in-game-style artwork of Justice.
Reception & Context on X
The official Rockstar post is massive (over 200k+ likes and 8M+ views and climbing).
Reactions are heavily positive on the music, the chemistry between Jason and Lucia, the visual fidelity, and the “we’re finally almost there” energy.
Common talking points include the shower scene, comparisons to earlier trailers, the Keys footage, and excitement for the score.
Some note the PS5 branding/capture and the timing relative to ongoing Rockstar legal matters and recent leaks.
This is almost certainly the final major trailer before launch.
