Nordisk Games announced the deal on October 8–9. Avalanche Studios Group will globally publish, market, and distribute games from fellow subsidiary Supermassive Games.
The first title under the arrangement is Directive 8020, which launched earlier this year (May, in some reports).
This is an internal publishing shift, not a sale.
Both studios stay fully creatively independent and keep ownership of their portfolios and development plans.
They will share operational support across finance, people, and IT.
Nordisk Film and Nordisk Games CEO Allan Mathson Hansen framed it as a long-term cost move: a shared foundation so resources go into games, with Avalanche supplying publishing and operational scale and Supermassive supplying narrative horror.
Avalanche CEO Stefanía Halldórsdóttir pointed to theHunter: Call of the Wild, still at about 2 million monthly players nine years after launch, as proof of that live-service and publishing setup.
Nordisk took a 30% stake in Supermassive in 2021, its first UK investment.
