Here’s a full breakdown of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta.
Beta Schedule
• Early Access Beta: August 21–25, 2026 Starts immediately after the Call of Duty: NEXT showcase on August 21.
Available only to players who pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC (Steam, Battle.net, or Xbox on PC).
Note: Switch 2 is not included in Early Access (pre-orders for that version start later).
• Open Beta: August 28–September 1, 2026 Free for everyone on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2.
No pre-order required.
The full game launches on October 23, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.
Digital pre-orders also unlock the campaign one week early (October 16).
What’s Playable in the Beta (First for the Franchise)
This is the first Call of Duty beta to include campaign, multiplayer, and Warzone content together.
Campaign
• Mission: “Entrenched” Available in both weekends. It follows a squad of South Korean marines (plus an embedded American) in an uphill offensive involving trenches, APCs, and close-quarters combat.
A short gameplay teaser has already been released.
Multiplayer – Early Access (Aug 21–25)

Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, Lotus, Kill Block
Modes:
Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Inflation, Search & Destroy, Kill Block (10v10 and 3v3 Gunfight), Mobility Course
Multiplayer + More – Open Beta (Aug 28–Sept 1)

Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, Lithium (replaces Lotus), Kill Block
Additional content:
• Ground War: Combat Outpost (Imjin Farmland & Wolves Stadium)
• Warzone: New Resurgence map Zodiac
• Extra modes: Hijack, Combat Outpost
Players can unlock up to 19 weapons, plus a wide range of tacticals, lethals, field upgrades, perks, and killstreaks.
New Operators are available (Vault Edition owners get exclusive ones early). There’s also a Training Mobility Course to practice the updated movement systems.
How to Access
• Early Access: Pre-order any edition on PS5, Xbox Series, or PC. Digital pre-orders usually grant automatic access; physical or third-party digital purchases provide a 13-character code to redeem at callofduty.com/betaredeem.
• Discord Nitro subscribers have also been able to claim Early Access codes.
• Open Beta: Simply download it when it goes live—no code needed.
Activision is promoting this as an “unprecedented beta experience.”
