The Shadow trailer is a tone piece, not a feature dump. Atlus posted English and Japanese cuts overnight.
Gematsu has both
The official description is the plot in one breath. A string of murders hits quiet Inaba.
The Midnight Channel rumor spreads. The protagonist and his classmates run into Shadows, called manifestations of one’s other self.
They awaken Personas and chase the truth in the fog.
That is the original Persona 4 hook, rebuilt.
On foggy mornings, bodies are found hanging from buildings and transmission towers.
The rumor is that your soulmate appears if you stare into a TV on a rainy night.
The other side of the screen is the dungeon world.
Shadows are the enemies there, and also the repressed self each party member has to face.
Combat is still turn-based: hit a weakness, knock them down, then All-Out Attack. You collect and fuse Personas to change the party’s kit.
RPG Site says this cut adds new music and gameplay, not a new system.
It sits after a long trailer run: story, new features, then character spots for the protagonist, Yukiko, Yosuke, Chie, Kanji, Rise, Teddie, and Naoto.
Atlus has also said the remake keeps the core identity of the 2008 game rather than rewriting it.
Dates are unchanged.
