Pokémon HOME 4.1.0 went live on October 7 after maintenance that started at 9:00 a.m., on both the Switch app and mobile.
The headline change is compatibility with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
Those ports had been waiting on this link for months.
The transfer is strictly one-way.
Move a Pokémon from FireRed or LeafGreen into HOME and it can go on to other games in the series, but it cannot return to FireRed or LeafGreen.
Pokémon from any other game also cannot be sent into those two titles.
The Pokémon Company spelled that out in the update notes so trainers do not treat HOME like a round trip.
Premium Plan storage goes from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon.
The plan price does not change. That extra 3,000 slots is the practical reason a lot of longtime HOME users will care more than the Kanto ports.
Two extras sit outside the official patch-note bullets.
Finish the Pokédex in FireRed and LeafGreen and the mobile version of HOME can hand you a Celebi.
It is redeemed in HOME, not inside the Game Boy games.
Pokémon GO creatures caught in Safari Balls can now move into HOME as well.
This also lands with a deadline behind it. Pokémon Bank on 3DS is set to shut down in February 2027, so HOME is the box that has to absorb older collections before that door closes.
