STAR WARS Zero Company was officially revealed on April 14, 2025, with its first trailer dropping at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025.
This is a gritty, single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor (XCOM veterans) in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, published by EA.
Set in the twilight of the Clone Wars (post-Battle of Umbara, ~20 BBY), you play as Hawks, a customizable former Republic officer leading Zero Company—an elite squad of uneasy allies including mercenaries, ex-clones, and specialists hired for black-ops missions against a shadowy, galaxy-consuming threat.
Gameplay focuses on squad command in high-stakes battles (third-person turn-based), base-building on the Ring of Kafrene, galaxy-spanning intel networks, character bonds for combat synergies, deep customization, permadeath mode, and meaningful choices that shape stories, alliances, and even the canon timeline. It draws heavy inspiration from The Clone Wars, Andor, Rogue One, and the Original Trilogy’s sharp wit.
The Official Announce Trailer is cinematic and moody: “There’s a war you don’t see. The one fought in the shadows. The war beneath the war.” It teases Clone Wars-era grit, squad introductions, and brief tactical combat glimpses—pure hype fuel for tactics fans, with no full gameplay shown yet.
The game is scheduled for 2026 (exact date TBD, with some speculation around a bigger reveal at The Game Awards 2026) on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Fans are extremely excited—it’s currently one of the top-wishlisted tactics games out there and part of a massive 2026 Star Wars lineup. Bit Reactor is aiming to revitalize the genre the way XCOM did back in the day. This could be the shadowy Clone Wars experience we’ve been waiting for!
Tactics fan? Hyped for black-ops in the final days of the Republic? May the Force (and good positioning) be with you! 🎮🛡️
