Valve’s Steam Frame is live
Valve opened reservations for its standalone VR headset. US pricing starts around $1,059 (1TB model ~$1,299).
Reviews and hands-on pieces dropped today: wireless PC streaming and standalone Half-Life: Alyx are the big talking points.
RAM shortages pushed price and timing up.
Valve says Steam Deck 2 plans are unchanged.

How it works
- Log into Steam and pick a model:
- 256GB — $1,059 US
- 1TB — $1,299 US (Includes controllers + Half-Life: Alyx. Power supply is not in the box.)
- Sign up before Thursday, September 17 at 10:00 AM Pacific (12:00 PM CDT / 1:00 PM ET).
- Valve then randomizes the list. Signing up first does not help.
- On Sept 17 you get an email: reservation queue or waitlist.
- If you’re in the reservation queue, a purchase email starts going out Sept 18. You typically have 72 hours to check out when your turn hits.
Ships from Steam in the US, Canada, UK, EU, and Australia. Japan / Taiwan / Hong Kong go through distributor KOMODO. South Korea is listed as coming soon.

- Steam account in good standing
- A Steam purchase before April 27, 2026
- One signup per household (they check payment method + shipping address)
After Sept 17, late signups only go to the back of the waitlist. Amazon, Best Buy, etc. are not taking official launch reservations.
