Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Launch Issues
The Situation
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls (the new 4v4 Marvel tag fighter from Arc System Works) launched on August 6, 2026 for PS5 and PC.
Console players are generally having a solid experience, but the PC version is struggling hard with technical problems.
The game currently has a Mixed Steam rating, with a large portion of the negative reviews focused on performance rather than the gameplay itself.
Main PC Problems
- Persistent stuttering and micro-stutters, even on high-end hardware (reports of issues on RTX 3080 / 5090-level cards)
- Difficulty maintaining a stable 60 FPS (critical for a fighting game)
- High / inefficient CPU usage
- Problems with overlays and capture software (OBS, Discord)
- Issues with the anti-cheat and PlayStation PC SDK
- Poor / non-existent Linux and SteamOS support (players report needing workarounds or a Windows boot drive)
These problems were already present during the open beta in late July. Arc System Works apologized at the time and promised day-one fixes, including reduced CPU load, better shader handling, OBS/Discord compatibility, and netcode improvements.
While a day-one patch did ship, many players say the core performance issues remain.
What’s Working
- The core fighting game itself is getting praise for its stylish presentation, character designs, and tag-team systems.
- Console (PS5) performance is reported as much more stable.
Bottom Line
It’s a classic case of a strong fighting game being held back by a weak PC port at launch. Arc System Works is aware and has already started patching, but PC players are currently the ones feeling the pain the most.
