The Silent Hill revival is in full swing. Konami is treating the series like an annual franchise again, and the next game is days away.
Silent Hill: Townfall — September 24, 2026
This is the one that matters right now. Developed by Scotland’s Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Konami and Annapurna, it launches September 24 on PS5 and PC (Steam / Epic).
It’s a first-person psychological horror set on the fog-soaked Scottish island of St. Amelia. You play Simon Ordell (voiced by Jovan Adepo), a man called back to “put things right,” carrying little more than an IV bag, a medical wristband, and a portable CRT TV that becomes the game’s signature tool.
Cast also includes Kezia Burrows as Zoe and Terry O’Quinn as Richard.
Tone-wise it’s analog horror and medical trauma in a remote 1990s-ish town, with a giant something moving through the fog. Hands-on coverage from Gamescom called the atmosphere unusually authentic and oppressive.
A ~19-minute gameplay trailer dropped in August.
A prequel comic, Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House, written by director Jon McKellan and drawn by David Roach, hits UK shelves September 16 and the US September 30.
Silent Hill f is still expanding
The 1960s Japan entry from NeoBards and writer Ryukishi07 (Higurashi) launched September 25, 2025. It sold over 1 million units in a day and passed 2 million by April 2026.
Latest news: a new manga focused on Kotoyuki, the Fox Mask character, starts in Weekly Famitsu late 2026.
Part one is his origin story; Ryukishi07 and Konami supervise; artist is Ayato. There’s already another manga adaptation with a new ending.
Konami’s bigger plan
Series producer Motoi Okamoto said at Gamescom 2026 that Konami wants a new Silent Hill roughly every year and that “many” unannounced projects are in the works.
They are deliberately changing settings (America → 1960s Japan → Scotland) so the series doesn’t burn out one town.
Also in the pipeline
- Silent Hill 1 remake — Bloober Team (same studio as the 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake). Confirmed in production. No release date. Often floated as a 2027 candidate.
- Silent Hill 2 remake (2024) remains the commercial anchor; reports put player count around 6 million when you include sales, downloads, and subscriptions.
Bottom line
The “new Silent Hill” right now is Townfall, nine days out. After that, expect Bloober’s Silent Hill 1 remake and at least one more original project Konami hasn’t named yet.
The fog is not going away.
