Women have always been an essential creative force in gaming—from pioneering early developers and designers to today's trailblazing leaders, artists, writers, programmers, and players who continue to shape the medium and push its boundaries.
Their contributions enrich stories, mechanics, communities, and the entire culture of games, making the industry more innovative, inclusive, and vibrant for everyone.
Women in Games International (WIGI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2005, dedicated to advancing economic equality and diversity in the global games industry—including video games, tabletop games, and esports.
Their mission is to cultivate resources that promote career advancement, professional development, and economic opportunity for women, femme-identifying, nonbinary professionals, and allies by eliminating barriers, normalizing diversity, and increasing representation.
